Karen Mills is a Professor of Mathematics at Indian River State College. She joined IRSC in 2004. She has taught
Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Business
Calculus and Calculus I, II, and III. She has also served on many IRSC and
Florida state-wide committees and workgroups. She is a member of the
American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges and the IRSC AFC
Chapter. Dr. Mills has been awarded the Faculty of the Month by IRSC students.
In 1996, she joined St. Lucie County School District. She worked as a high school mathematics teacher and as an achievement specialist for eight years. After earning a M.B.A., she worked for a fortune 500 company in New York.
She is the Education Assistant Director and Assistant Clerk of her church. She is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Dr. Mills was born in Jamaica (Caribbean) and has three siblings. She truly enjoys teaching and firmly believes that all students are capable of learning.
